RCGILex Lecture: “The search for sustainability: opportunities in the oil and gas chain”

Next Monday, August 30 at 2:30 pm, the PRH-ANP 33.1 brings the lecture “The search for Sustainability: Opportunities in the oil and gas chain” by the renowned Prof. Dr. Carlos Augusto Arentz Pereira together with the panelists Prof. Edmilson Moutinho dos Santos and Prof. Hirdan Medeiros from the Institute of Energy and Environment at USP.

Prof. Dr. Carlos Augusto Arentz Pereira is a chemical engineer from UFRJ, master in Production Engineering (Logistics) from UFSC and doctor in Public Policy, Strategies and Development from the Institute of Economics at UFRJ. He is also trained in petroleum processing engineering, computer science, industrial combustion and oil and gas business encompassing production, refining and logistics.
He worked at Petrobras for 33 years, where he held various managerial positions having experience in utilities, energy efficiency, environment, sustainability, performance evaluation, transfer pricing, logistics and planning in oil and gas, marketing and marketing of natural gas and energy. Specifically with regard to oil refining and downstream, he worked for 10 years in refineries, with the basic processes of refining and utilities, basic design of units and equipment and a technical, economic and environmental feasibility study.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, responsible for the discipline of Energy Planning and Renewable Resources. He also acts as a business consultant in energy, oil and natural gas.
